Mission Statement: Home-Start Stoke-on-Trent is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under the age of five years. Workers, paid and unpaid, offer regular support, friendship and practical help to families under stress in their own homes and/or in group situations, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown.

• Is funded through a variety of sources

• Employs paid staff to manage the day-to-day organisation, administration and management of the scheme

• Relies heavily on the goodwill, motivation and commitment of a team of volunteers

• Is one of approximately 338 Home-Start schemes in the UK, Germany, Cyprus plus others worldwide

• Signs an agreement with Home-Start UK and is assessed by a vigorous set of Quality Assurance Standards
