WHO ARE HOME-START VOLUNTEERS? |

are parents or have significant parenting experience have time to visit a family and be available for support and ongoing training have completed the 10 week (one day per week) Home-Start Preparation Course have been CRB checked and cleared have provided two references can demonstrate that they can be friendly, non-judgemental, accepting and sensitive to the needs of families come from all walks of life, all ages and backgrounds are given support by the Co-ordinators to enable them to confidently and effectively support families |

| WHAT WOULD I DO ON THE PREPARATION COURSE? | ||

WOULD I GAIN A RECOGNISED QUALIFICATION? |

The course is accredited through the NOCN (National Open College Network) and will give you 15 credits at level 2.
NOCN qualifications are nationally recognised and accepted as a means of entry to further study by many further and higher education providers and by a large number of employers and trainers.
You can choose whether or not to do the accredited course. |

HOW DO I BECOME A HOME-START VOLUNTEER? Take the first step towards becoming a Home-Start volunteer:
We run several preparation courses each year including at least one evening course. |
